As the X-League grows and spreads to a larger geographic area, we are shifting to single elimination brackets and regional based playoff locations before coming together at the end. This reduces overall travel.

Upon the completion of the regular season, the two teams with the overall most points will receive a double bye to the final 8 teams. They will be seeded #1 and #2 and guaranteed playoff prize money.

The remaining 6 spots in the final 8 will be filled from the regional based playoffs.

Region 1: Connecticut and NY / North Jersey

• Connecticut will receive 4 automatic bids (4 of 12 teams)
• NY / North Jersey will receive 2 automatic bids (2 of 7 teams)
• The 2 teams with the next highest points will receive wild card spots to complete an 8-team bracket.
• Teams will be seeded 1 thru 8 based on total points. The bracket will be single elimination and will compete for 2 rounds to reduce from 8 teams to 2 teams. These 2 teams will advance to the final 8.

Region 2: Jersey Shore, Central Jersey, South Jersey

• Jersey Shore will receive 2 automatic bids (2 of 7 teams)
• Central Jersey will receive 2 automatic bids (2 of 7 teams)
• South Jersey will receive 2 automatic bids (2 of 7 teams)
• The 2 teams with the next highest points will receive wild card spots to complete an 8-team bracket.
• Teams will be seeded 1 thru 8 based on total points. The bracket will be single elimination and will compete for 2 rounds to reduce from 8 teams to 2 teams. These 2 teams will advance to the final 8.

Region 3: Philadelphia, Delaware, Maryland

• Philadelphia/DE will receive 4 automatic bids (4 of 12 teams)
• MD will receive 2 automatic bids (2 of 7 teams)
• The 2 teams with the next highest points will receive wild card spots to complete an 8-team bracket.
• Teams will be seeded 1 thru 8 based on total points. The bracket will be single elimination and will compete for 2 rounds to reduce from 8 teams to 2 teams. These 2 teams will advance to the final 8.

Finals (all 8 teams cash)

• Top 2 regular season teams are seeded #1 and #2
• Seeds 3 through 8 are the teams advancing from the regional locations and seeded based on total points in the regular season.
• Teams bowl single elimination until the champion is crowned Top 8 teams would be paid as follows;

Teams that finish 9th thru 14th will receive a free annual team fee (their previously withheld team fee will be returned to them).

NOTES – playoffs will be in June, but exact dates and locations are TBD. Automatic bids are counted AFTER the top 2 overall teams are taken. For example, if your division receives 2 automatic bids but the team in first for your division is the number 1 overall team, then teams finishing in 2nd and 3rd would receive the automatic bids. Additionally, tiebreaker criteria for playoff seeding is described in the rules. Teams are still responsible for paying match fees during the playoffs.

Didn’t make the playoffs, compete in the consolation bracket:

The 8 teams with the highest points that did not make the main playoff draw will be seeded 1 through 8 and compete in a single elimination bracket. Because these teams can come from any division, the consolation bracket will take place alongside the main playo finals. The main playoff finals and consolation bracket finals will feature combined side action.

In the consolation bracket, the top 4 teams will cash and be paid as follows:
